Description

FIRE BARRIER PAINT is a water-based, intumescent specialty paint that protects surfaces from flames during a fire, providing vital time for fire intervention and evacuation. Thanks to its advanced structure and special formulation, it absorbs heat through endothermic decomposition when exposed to flames, reducing both the flame spread and surface temperatures. Additionally, it dilutes various types of smoke and combustible gases, playing a crucial role in mitigating the destructive effects of fire.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

Application surfaces must be clean and free from dust, dirt, oil, and other foreign substances. Loose substrates and deep cracks should be identified, and necessary repairs must be carried out. For steel and sheet metal surfaces, surface preparation should be done by sanding where necessary. VKFLEX FIRE BARRIER PAINT should be diluted with water at a 1:1 ratio and applied as a single coat primer. The surface should be left to dry for 3-4 hours.

Application Method

FIRE BARRIER PAINT is single-component and ready to use. It should be mixed with a suitable mixer for 4-5 minutes before starting the application. After the primer coat, it should be used without any water dilution. It should be applied in 2 coats using equipment such as rollers or brushes, with a consumption of 1-1.5 kg per m² depending on the surface. The waiting time between coats should be 4 hours. Consumption may vary depending on the surface condition and the desired fire resistance duration.
